Hans Langh is the Logistician of 2015
The Finnish Association of Purchasing and Logistics LOGY (Suomen Osto- ja Logistiikkayhdistys LOGY ry) has selected the Chairman of the Board of Langh Group and Langh Ship, maritime counsellor, Doctor of Economic Sciences h.c. Hans Langh, as the National Logistician of 2015. The LOGY Logistician of 2015 award is granted to an individual who is operating in an active role in logistics.
The chairperson of the LOGY award committee Ulla Tapaninen granted the National Logistician of 2015 award at the LOGY Conference event on 05/02/2015 at Finlandia Hall, Helsinki, stating: “The Logistician of 2015, Hans Langh, is an inventive innovator, whose greatest innovations have been cradle tween decks, special containers and scrubbers.” A cradle tween deck can be used to transport large metal coils at the same time as a ship’s stability is optimised, which increases the safety of both the crew, cargo and the ship. Also, special containers are designed especially for expensive metal coils and sheet transportation needs. The latest innovation, the more effective scrubber, has allowed ships to continue to use heavy fuel oil. Thanks to scrubbers, it is possible to meet the ever stricter sulphur limits that came into force on 01/01/2015, and ships do not need to use more expensive light fuel oil.
Hans Langh established Industrial and Ship Cleaning Services Hans Langh in 1973, Oy Langh Ship Ab in 1983 and Langh Cargo Solutions in 1999.
